The route, step by step
The tour starts at the National Theatre — the place that changed the history of Norway. We cross Torgallmenningen and the main street, then continue to the Fish Market and Bryggen, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In the narrow alleyways of Bryggen you'll learn about the importance of the Hanseatic League. The tour ends at Bergenhus fortress — the former stronghold of the Norwegian kings — and St Mary's Church, before finishing at the Fish Market, where you can taste local produce if you wish.
You'll find the guide in the middle of the small garden in front of the theatre's main entrance, by the stone statue of Henrik Ibsen — every day.
